The Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, one of world’s richest men who has an estimated net worth of $20 Billion dollars owns a massive 1788 room palace that is spread over 17 different floors.
The palace contains 1,788 rooms, which includes, a banquet hall that can be expanded to accommodate up to 5,000 guests, 257 bathrooms and a mosque that can accommodate 1,500 people.
Not only does the Sultan have access to the worlds biggest palace, he recently listed his $37.5 million dollar Las Vegas compound for sale that includes a 65,000 square foot mansion.
The estate is surrounded by a 10-foot stone wall, has two guest homes, a spa, tennis courts, pools, an equestrian centre, polo practice field and even its very own discotheque.
The main house has 36 bathrooms, a restaurant grade commercial kitchen, a huge games room and a picturesque resort sized pool.
Other homes owned by the Sultan of Brunei include lavish mansion near the Sunset Boulevard area in the Beverley Hills, California. Valued at $38 million and home in London has been estimated to value £110 million pounds.
Moving over to the King of Thailand now he is slightly ahead in the money race with $30 Billion dollars and its time to take a look at some of the crazy places he owns!
If you thought Bolkiah has access to a large amount of real estate then the King of Thailand blows him out the water with access to a staggering nineteen Crown Palaces.
Out of these the largest and biggest of them all is the Grand Palace which sits in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand with the palace being the official residence of the countries ruler since 1782.
Rather than being a single structure, the Grand Palace is made up of numerous buildings, halls, pavilions set around open lawns, gardens and courtyards.
With another 18 palaces under his belt located all across the country its clear that the winner of this round is The King of Thailand!
Battle of the Billionaires Round 2 – Cars and Boats
The sultan of Brunei comes out fighting in this round with his massive collection of 600 Rolls Royce cars that he keeps in his own car style palace garage.
The Sultan does not stop at Rolls Royce’s however, he also has a massive exotic car collection that totals over 5000 and includes 300 Ferraris, 20 Koenigeggs, 6 Daver Porsche 962 LM’s and 11 McLaren F1’s.
The whole collection has an estimated net worth of over $300 Million Dollars with other models including 4 Buggatti Veyrons, almost every model of Lamborghini on the planet and hundreds of Porsche’s.
Its safe to say that the Sultan pretty much owns one of almost every car model in existence, give or take a few!
The king of Thailand on the other hand has access to a very limited number of vehicles including a State Maybach 62 limousine and several convertible cars including a Rolls-Royce Corniche and a Cadillac STS.
The clear winner of this round by about 5000 cars is The Sultan of Brunei!
Battle of the Billionaires Round 3 – Boats & Planes
The king of Thailad still has a fighting chance as we enter round 3 with access to several custom boeing 737 aircraft.
The planes are thought to each have custom interiors and are used mainly for state visits to other countries and help move the kings massive entorage across nations.
He is also thought to have access to his own smaller private jet however not much details about this are currently known.
It does not however, take long for the Sultan of Brunei to come back from the brink and as you are about to see… he does it with ease.
The Sultan has access to a large fleet of aircraft including a boeing 747 aircraft that has a custom gold and crystal interior.
The aircraft is furnished with gold-plated furniture and is believed to be one of the world’s most luxurious aircraft
He also has an Airbus 340, along with six smaller planes and even travels around in two helicopters on longer trips.
Its thought the cost of the Boeing 747 and its interior alone came to around $500 Million Dollars, an easy win for the Sultan in this round!
Battle of the Billionaires Final Round – All or Nothing
Moving into the final round now and we first take a look at the Sultan of Brunei who is reported to have once spent $21,000 dollars on a haircut.
He owns a large number of thoroughbred ponies that he regularly uses to play polo, and its rumoured he even played several games with Prince Charles even having his polo shoes delivered – by helicopter – to the palace field.
He even celebrated his 50th birthday with a blowout event featuring a concert by Michael Jackson, who was reportedly paid $17 million dollars and performed in a stadium built just for the occasion.
He also has access to the Crown Jewels of Brunei which in themselves are almost priceless.
The king of Thailand owns large parts of the countries main capital city which is full of billionaires.
Moving over to The King of Thailand now and it looks like he may have been rumbled however his lifestyle still packs a punch!
We start with a Forbes estimate and 3,320 acres of central Bangkok land and property with town and country values stretching to 13,200 acres across the country.
Its also thought the king holds stakes in several wealthy businesses including Siam Commercial Bank worth $13 Billion and a 36% stake of Siam Cement Group, a $12.6 billion industrial conglomerate full of billionaires.
So there you have it, we conclude that the winner of our first battle of the billionaires is The Sultan of Brunei, winning the battle with a score of 3-1.
