10 – Worlds Largest Personal Residence
Coming in just in-front of Buckingham Palace, this massive compound is currently the largest residential palace in the world and the largest single family residence ever built.
It was constructed in 1984 at a cost of around $400 million dollars and features many amenities including an air conditioned horse stable.
The Sultan’s home contains a completely insane 1,788 rooms that include 257 bathrooms, a banquet hall for 5000 guests, 110 car garage and 5 swimming pools.
The palace is spread over 2 million square feet and has its own Mosque that can accommodate up to 1500 worshippers at one time.
It is so large that requirements include the use of 564 chandeliers, 51,000 light bulbs, 44 stairwells, and 18 elevators.
9 – Mercedes Benz CLK GTR Roadster
Built by Mercedes-Benz Performance and Motorsport arm in 1997, its thought that the Sultan of Brunei owns 2 of these cars.
The car took part in 22 races including the Le Mans 24 hour race and ranked in 17 wins and 17 pole positions.
The car features a 6 liter V12 engine and its thought that there are only 25 road legal versions in existence and only 2 of them featured RHD steering… yes guess who owned those.
Its thought that the Sultan auctioned off the cars in 2009 for half a million dollars and $620,000 dollars.
8 – Las Vegas Home
Another home and another auction, this time for a guide price of $37.5 million dollars, its thought the Sultan of Brunei had this estate built for his younger brother.
The home is currently one of the biggest in Las Vegas and has 17 bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, 36 other bathrooms, a 50 car parking lot and a garage that holds 11 cars.
The house also features a large 1000 person ballroom, international-sized swimming pool, swan pond, commercial kitchen, equestrian centre, polo track, sushi bar and discotheque.
In addition to this there is a Men’s and Ladies Spa and Salon, personal theatre and nightclub.
Its thought this massive home covers around 73,000 square feet and comes with an additional 8 separate buildings on-site.
7 – Airbus A340-200
Dripping luxury, the Sultan of Brunei’s own personal Airbus A340-200 features a master bedroom and bathroom and on-board conference centre.
The jet is the only version with wingspan measuring greater than the length of the fuselage and is decorated with the Sultan’s personal Logo and apparently gold paint under-body.
The Airbus A340-200 seats up to 261 passengers in a three-class cabin layout have a range of 7,450 nautical miles and costs roughly $87 Million USD
6–- Regents Park Home
Named St John’s Lodge, this is the private residence of the Sultan of Brunei in London and has an estimated value of $145 Million Dollars.
The home was built around 200 years ago in 1812 and is currently believed to be one of only 2 homes created by John Nash.
There are 3 main buildings on the site that are all connected and while 2 are considered to be the main house; the Sultans room is located in a separate private building with all 3 covering 3,500 square feet of living space.
The house is open to the public at certain times of the year and is surrounded by beautiful gardens that feature fountains, a meditation area, Doric Temple and a massive stone Portico.
5 – Boeing 767-200
Costing a whopping $160 million dollars, this is the second private plane belonging to the Sultan of Brunei.
This plane is a mid-sized, wide body, twin engine jet airliner that was built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes and the sultan has had several room upgrades inside.
There is a large private office on-board as well as a bedroom and bathroom and space for the Sultans travelling associates.
The plane has a travel range of 6,590.00 Nautical Miles and with full seating can hold up to 290 passengers.
4 – California Home
Another lavish mansion once owned by The Sultan of Brunei, this property is reported to have been sold for around $38 Million Dollars.
The Spanish colonial styled mansion was built in 1927 and served as the temporary residence for the Sultan on the rare occasions when he used to visit California.
Situated close to Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, the home covers almost 2 acres of grounds and the main house sits on 14,000 square feet of living space.
Inside the house you can find eight bedrooms, eleven bathrooms all fitted with Jacuzzi’s, dining room, dressing room, modern gourmet kitchen, library, and theatre.
Outside there is a covered porch, patio and landscaped gardens with great views of Los Angeles and the Beverly Hills Hotel.
An infinity edge swimming pool and Cabana can be found out back and the on-site garage can hold up to 30 cars.
Celebrity neighbours include Madonna, Pamela Anderson and Janet Jackson.
3 – Ferrari Mythos
Another rare and expensive car in the collection of the Sultan of Brunei is the Ferrari Mythos that was a concept car based on the mechanical underpinnings of the Ferrari Testarossa.
The car was produced in 1989 and its world premier was held at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Its thought that the Sultan currently owns the only 2 road legal cars of this type as it was never intended to be sold to members of the public and this includes one Turquoise convertible.
2 – Boeing 747-400
The third of the Sultans private planes is the Boeing 747-400 that costs around $400 Million dollars new.
The plane is considered to be the best of all 3 and is described as a palace on wheels with a bedroom, living room, bathroom with solid gold wash basins, corporate office and separate remote control desk with the whole interior thought to have cost $120 million dollars.
The plane has been lined with gold throughout, and can fly non-stop for up to 7,670 nautical miles and has a commercial passenger capacity of 660 passengers.
One interesting thing to note is that the Sultan is a qualified pilot and flew the aircraft to state events in both 2012 and 2008.
1 – Greater Car Collection
The main hobby of the Sultan of Brunei is collecting cars, and he has quite the collection indeed.
The collection includes 7000 of the world’s finest cars and is thought to have a total estimated value of around $5 Billion dollars.
Some of the only cars in the world are situated in this collection, however he does own more notable cars and this includes 94 Aston martins, 17 Audi’s, 405 Bentley’s, 22 BMW’s, 6 Bugatti, 192 Ferrari’s and 3 Ducatis.
Its thought that with the Sultan’s garage being so large, it would take roughly an hour and a half for one of the cars at the back to be brought forward.
The sultan also owns several state limousine cars.
