10 iPhone 8 Facts, Rumours, News, Features And Release Dates
The iPhone 8 is expected to land on our doorstep in the fall of 2017, but what features will it have and what are the rumors, news and facts, Vidello Productions is taking a look at 10 iPhone 8 Facts, Rumors, News, Features, Release Dates and Costs.
Expect a brand new processor in the iPhone 8, that’s exactly what many of the online websites who are tracking the release of the iPhone 8 have said.
Built on a 10 nano-meter process, the A11 chip is expected to be faster, smaller and much more powerful.
Apple are expected to take first delivery of this brand new chip for testing in early 2017.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has reportedly secured all orders for the production and delivery of the chips… it would be interesting to see if this was still the case once Donald Trumps in the white house.
Full production of these processors is expected to be fully underway by the second quarter of 2017.
9. iPhone 8 Wireless Charging
There are rumors that Apple is working on long range wireless technology and it is expected to be a feature of the upcoming iPhone 8 in 2017.
This type of charging does not require the phone to be close to a charging source and this could be placed on a wall or in a ceiling.
Not only is the company thought to be seeking a supplier for there wireless chips, its understood that there are still some bugs in the systems to be worked out including a way to make the battery charge just as fast when it is further away from the power source.
The good news is we can almost certainly expect wireless charging of some form in the iPhone 8.
8. Bio-metric Features
According to one analyst who is known for accurate predicting Apple features, the iPhone 8 could be coming with some upgraded bio-metric features including facial recognition and iris scanning.
Xintec has been rumored to be the company behind the supply of some iris scanning chips that are still in early development.
Fingerprint scanning will of course be a feature in the iPhone 8 as it is already in previous models and some are saying that the Iris features may not be readily available until 2018.
Expect more of the same from Apple when it comes to cameras for the iPhone 8, that’s the word from many of the rumor analysts in the last few months.
Apple are expected to include the same camera that released with the iPhone 7 and 7+ and this may also mean that the dual lens feature will only be available in the iPhone 8+ but its not currently confirmed.
There are reports that both phone models will have optical image stabilization for wide angle and telephoto lenses.
Expected to be a big upgraded feature to the iPhone 8 series, Apple are apparently working on a larger 5.8 inch screen that could feature a wrap around design, similar to that of the Samsung Edge models.
There are many conflicting rumors on display designs with one analyst suggesting Apple are planning edge to edge displays with a flexible OLED screen.
One bright bit of news is that Sharp has recently confirmed that Apple will be switching to Organic Light Emitting Diode displays in 2017.
Not only do OLED displays offer better power consumption, they also allow for the device to be more lightweight, offer better contrast ratio and they have a much faster response time then traditional LCD screens.
Its far to early to say whether it will be a 5.5 inch or 5.8 inch screen but The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg both agree that Apple is working on some kind of Edge to Edge display.
NAND memory produced by Samsung is expected to be included in the iPhone 8 however it is yet unclear as to what upgraded capabilities we might see in the iPhone 8 with this new feature.
There have been rumors that the iPhone 8 will be released with 265GB of internal storage and this may be one possible benefit.
The last time we saw NAND memory in an iPhone was back in 2012 when Samsung supplied the iPhone 5.
Apple are expected to release the iPhone 8 with 5 different storage types and these include the 16GB, 32GB 64GB 128GB and as we said previously there is rumored to be a 256GB version coming in 2017.
The iPhone 7 and 7+ models were released with a storage capacity of up to 128GB so this would be another major step up the ladder for the iPhone.
3. Taptic Engine
There could be a new Taptic Motor Engine coming in the iPhone 8 after rumors from a Japanese website claimed the 2017 model will get a significant upgrade.
Several benefits from this would include the ability to create more complex tactile vibrations and improvements of 3D touch when using the smartphones display.
Rumors are also suggesting that Apple will integrate Touch ID into the screen itself, rather than the traditional home button placement and a new Taptic Engine would certainly provide an upgrade for this to happen.
It may also allow for sound controls and a power button to be incorporated into the screen, instead of on the side of the device, we certainly do live in exciting times.
Rumors suggest that the iPhone 8 could be flexible and this has been a theory for some time.
Apple have recently taken out a patent on flexible devices and its thought that if included in the iPhone 8, you could open up apps simply by bending the phone in a certain direction.
One of the more interesting things about the patent is that Apple refers directly to the iPhone several times instead of using its usual “electronic device” wording.
In a bid to keep the August 28th patent a secret, Apple used an engineers name for it rather than the company name.
Whichever way you look at it, all this secrecy may point to one of the most flexible phones from apple we have ever seen coming in 2017.
1. Release Date
Apple have a pattern in releasing there phones and it would seem that the iPhone 8 is going to be no exception.
Vidello Productions is predicting that the iPhone 8 will be released in the Fall of 2017, and to put a month on it we are saying September.
Apple have released there last few phones in this month with the iPhone 7 and 7+ both being released on the 7th September 2016.
We predict the iPhone 8 will be released on September 14th 2017 however the release date in the description of this video will be updated as soon as we know more.
Apple are now under more pressure than ever to innovate and produce an iPhone in 2017 that’s both upgraded and different from anything they have ever created before.
